WORSHIP AND MUSIC

 

Sunday Worship : 8:30 AM And 11:00 AM

            Sunday morning worship is a traditional service utilizing the Evangelical Lutheran Worship resource. The Eucharist is celebrated every Sunday at all worship services. Nursery care, as well as “Crying Room” facilities is available at the morning services.  Coffee and cookies are available throughout the morning.

              

            A healing service is held normally quarterly and a special music or a guitar service is held four times a year on the fifth Sunday of the month.  Special services are held on Festival days, such as Christmas and Easter, and throughout the season Lent.

 

Nursery

Nursery is available for children ages 4 and under during worship. There is also a room for “Spirit filled Children” locate in the back of the sanctuary.

 

Choirs

            All choirs rehearse Wednesday evenings and sing at alternating services throughout the month.  Choirs normally sing June through September.

            The Cherub Choir is open to children age 4 through first grade and rehearses from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the Community Room.

            The Kids of the Kingdom Choir (KOK) is open to children from second through fifth grades and rehearses from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary.

            The Junior Choir is open to children from fifth through eight grades and rehearses from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Choir Room.  The Junior Choir also uses Orff instruments to accompany their vocal selections.

            The Senior Choir is open to youth starting in the ninth grade through adults of every age and rehearses from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the Choir room. 

            In addition, special music consisting of vocalists, instrumentalists and accompanists is used at many worship services throughout the month and on festival occasions.

 

Worship and Music Ministry Team

            The Worship and Music Ministry Team is responsible for the planning, organizing and executing the overall worship life of the St. Michael congregation.  The team meets frequently with the pastors and music ministers to plan worship services and coordinate events. The Worship and Music team directs the altar guild, is responsible for special decorations and festival Sundays as well as numerous other special worship events throughout the church year.  

 

Praise Team

                        The Praise Team leads the music quarterly at 11 a.m. and is open to singers and instrumentalists of all ages.
